"Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" is a science fiction novel written by Philip K. Dick and released March 22nd, 1968.
We know this because Rick Deckard says very early in the first scene, "I'll dial what's on my schedule for today." and the narrator immediately tells us, "Examining the schedule for January 3, 1992, he saw that a businesslike professional attitude was called for."
Some later editions of the book (including those with "Blade Runner" on the cover along with or without "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?") changed the early line of narration to "January 3, 2021", putting the story in 2021 AD.
