When Does the Film "Revolutionary Road" (2008) Take Place?

"Revolutionary Road" is a historical fiction film written by Justin Haythe [adapting “Revolutionary Road” (1961) by Richard Yates] and released in a public theater December 15th, 2008. (Wide release was December 26th, 2008.)

It takes place in the year:

1955 AD

We know this because a calendar is shown on the wall of the Wheeler home, exactly halfway through the film, that is open to a page that clearly reads “July 1955”. Roughly three-quarters through the film, Frank Wheeler says, "Look, it's been kind of a crazy summer" (and the rest of the main action takes place in two days), implying that the main action of the film has been over a few months in 1955 AD.

Fairly early in the film, there is a flashback to the moment Frank and April Wheeler are first shown the house on Revolutionary Road. Later, April says, "what you should have been allowed to do 7 years ago", referring generally to their settled married life in Connecticut. So this flashback probably takes place in 1948 AD

1955 - 7 = 1948.

Additionally, the film opens with a prologue depicting the first meeting of Frank and April after World War II but before they have their first child. World War II ended in 1945 AD so it has to be sometime from late 1945 AD to early 1948 AD.

Finally, there is a three-part epilogue that seems to take place years later but is unplaceable
