When Does "Theater Camp" (2023) Take Place?
"Theater Camp" is a mockumentory film written by Noah Galvin with Molly Gordon, Nick Lieberman, and Ben Platt and released July 14th, 2023.
We know this because several of the past due bills Troy Rubinsky is agonizing over in Joan Rubinsky’s office read "2019" and "PAST DUE". They could be from a previous year but, firstly, new bills would have arrived on top of them since. Secondly, the next summer will be the summer of 2020 AD when the famous and tragic worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, which began in February of 2020 AD, would have caused a theater camp to close down, negating the entire plot conflict about keeping the camp open.
