When Does "DC: The New Frontier" #3 "The Brave and the Bold" (2004) Take Place?

"DC: The New Frontier" #3 "The Brave and the Bold" is a superhero comic-book written by Darwyn Cooke and released March 17th, 2004.

It takes place on the fictional DC Comics Universe timeline in the year:

1957 AD - 1958 AD

We know this because the second scene of "The Men Who Fell to Earth" (the sixth 'chapter' of the series) includes some time and place setting free-floating text that reads, "MONTREAL- 1957".

This is followed by a scene set up by dialogue in the previous issue, "DC: The New Frontier" #2 (2004) as being "next week" so it should be only about a week later from a scene that's either in 1958 AD or 1968 AD. A sequence near the end includes time setting text reading "TWO MONTHS LATER" so unless this later scene takes place in January, the job interview scene also takes place in 1958 AD.

In a later scene of the issue, Batman's dialogue reads, "I'm here to talk about the night at Paris Street Church. In the 18 months since we stopped that cult", as depicted in the previous issue and labeled 1957 AD by a time setting text bullet.

1957 + 18 months = 6.1958.

In another scene, the real-world United States of America President Dwight Eisenhower's (served 1953 AD to 1961 AD) dialogue establishes "Has it really been 13 years since we beat the Hun?" referring to World War II, which ended in 1945 AD.

1945 + 13 = 1958.

In the penultimate scene of the comic-book, King Faraday clearly says "last year when the commies launched a satellite into orbit" referring to the launch of Sputnik I on October 4th, 1957 AD. Soon after, he adds, "back in 1955, half the radar equipment on the Eastern Seaboard was overloaded by a radio signal" and "for three years it has eluded us completely".

1957 + 1 = 1958.
and
1955 + 3 = 1958.

This comic-book was retroactively collected into a "DC: The New Frontier" volume 1 paperback as well as a complete hardcover

It is a chronologically midway comic in the DC Comics Universe multiverse timeline. It can be read after the previous issue, "DC: The New Frontier" #2 (2004) or after the "Justice League: The New Frontier Special" (2008) one-shot.
