"Godzilla" is an adventure horror (kaiju) film written by Max Borenstein with David Callaham, Frank Darabont, David S. Goyer, Drew Pearce, and Tony Gilroy and released in a public theater May 8th, 2014. (Wide release was May 16th, 2014.)

The prologue includes a time and place setting title card reading “THE PHILIPPINES, 1999” very early on. This segues into a second part with no time setting title card to differentiate it through it's probably still 1999 AD.
