When Does "Predator" (1987) Take Place?

"Predator" is a horror science fiction film written by Jim Thomas with John Thomas and David Peoples and released June 12th, 1987.

When does "Predator" (1987) take place? It takes place on the fictional Alien vs. Predator timeline in the year:

1987 AD

We know this because in the next film, "Predator 2" (1990), which takes place in 1997 AD, Special Agent Peter Keyes says, "10 years ago, one of his kind"... and "an elite Special Forces crew in Central America", referring to the events of this film.

1997 - 10 = 1987.

Furthermore, in the fourth film "The Predator" (2018), Agent Thomas J. Church says, "They've been here before. '87. '97." and a photograph of a Yautja on a tablet is dated "30 June 1987" and, in the third film, "Predators" (2010), Isabelle describes the events of this film and starts by simply saying, " '87, Guatemala."

It is an early chronological film in the Alien vs. Predator timeline (the chronologically second film to feature a Yautja predator) and can be watched either at its timeline point or entirely separately.
