When Does the Second TV Show "The Flash" Season Two (2015) Take Place?

"The Flash" season two is a science fiction superhero television show showran by Andrew Kreisberg, Gabrielle Stanton, Aaron Helbing, and Todd Helbing [adapting "The Flash" #74–#79 v2 (1993) by Mark Waid] and released October 6th, 2015. So when is "The Flash" season two set?

It takes place on an alternate timeline of the fictional DC Films Universe in the year:

2015 AD - 2016 AD

We know this because in season 2 episode 1 "The Man Who Saved Central City", a TV news anchor specifically declares, "It's been 6 months", referring to the events of the end of the previous season, which take place in April of 2015 AD.

4.2015 + 6 months = 10.2015.

Furthermore, in the same episode, an issue of "Central City Picture News" is shown with a front page describing the very previous scene and is dated for "WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2015". So it's confirmed to be October of 2015 AD at the beginning of the season.

By the end of the season, more time has passed. Iris West refers to the events of season 1 episode 23 "Fast Enough" (2015) that take place in April of 2015 AD when she says, "It's been almost a year already, can you believe that?" in season 2 episode 17 "Flash Back". So it must be early 2016 AD at this point.

2015 + 1 = 2016.

Additionally, season 2 episode 17 "Flash Back" includes time travel to the period around season 1 episode 11 "The Sound and the Fury". Season 1 episode 9 "The Man in the Yellow Suit" (2014) depicts the characters enjoying Christmas in December of 2014 AD while season 1 episode 23 "Fast Enough" (2015) takes place in April of 2015 AD so episode 11 (between them) is almost certainly very early 2015 AD.

The season's final episode, season 2 episode 23 "The Race of His Life", has a short series of extremely quick flashbacks explaining Zoom's past. These quick flashes are unplaceable until the last that is simultaneous with season 1 episode in April of 2015 AD.

MANY episodes also include flashbacks to Barry's childhood. Detective Joe West says, "It's been six months, Barry." in the first one in this season, clearly referring to the events of the flashbacks in the previous season. We know that key date because of a recording played in the same episode that says "on the night of March 18th in the year 2000" when talking about those first season flashbacks. So it must be September of 2000 AD at this time.

3.2000 + 6 months = 9.2000.

It is an early chronological show in the DC Films multiverse timeline (a first chronological show to feature Barry Allen/the Flash) and can be watched either at its timeline point or before "Justice League" (2017) as an extended flashback.
