When Does "Damsel" (2024) Take Place?

"Damsel" is a fantasy film written by Dan Mazeau that released March 8th, 2024. So when is "Damsel" set?

It takes place roughly in the years:

1500s AD

We know this because although the kingdom of Aurea is fictional, the wardrobe of its nobles match that of Elizabethan England, a period that lasted from 1558 AD to 1603 AD. As no years are mentioned in the movie and it takes place in an alternate world, this is the best possible placement on the Gregorian calendar

Additionally, there is a prologue that simply ends with a two-part time and place setting title card reading: "Centuries Later..." and "...in a Faraway Land". Without precise dates, the best we can do is trust this title card. The plural "Centuries" means more than 200 years and less than a millennia, i.e. 1000 years. This places the prologue sometime between 560 AD and 1390 AD.

1510 - 950 = 560
to
1590 - 200 = 1390.

It was adapted to prose (novelization) in advance in 2023.
