When Does "Midway" (2019) Take Place?

"Midway" is a historical fiction war film written by Wes Tooke that released November 8th, 2019. So when is "Midway" set? 


It takes place in the years: 

1941 AD - 1942 AD 

We know this because it's main action begins by depicting the famous and tragic attack by Japan’s royal air force on the United States of America’s Pearl Harbor naval base in Hawaii, which occurred in the real world on December 7th, 1941 AD. So it's December of 1941 AD at the start. 

The story continues on to show the real-world naval aviator Lieutenant Richard "Dick" Halsey Best (1910-2001) as he flew in an attack on the Mashall Islands on February 1st. 1942 AD. So this part must be in February of 1942 AD. ??? after an American attack on the Japanese capital city Tokyo on April 18th, 1942 AD ???. 

The narrative finally showing the nearly-as-famous and nearly-as-tragic Battle of Midway, a decisive naval conflict of World War II. It occurred in the real world from June 4th 1942 AD to June 7th, 1942 AD. So it ends in June of 1942 AD. 

Additionally, it includes a December of 1937 AD prologue depicting the real-world Lieutenant Commander Edwin Layton (1903-1984) in Japan.
