When Does "Alien vs. Predator: Requiem" (2007) Take Place?

"Alien vs. Predator: Requiem" is a science fiction film written by Shane Salerno and released December 25th, 2007.

It takes place on the fictional Alien vs. Predator timeline in the year:

2004 AD

We know this because the first scene (after an establishing shot of the Yautja predator ship) is the same as the final scene of the previous film, "Alien vs. Predator" (2004), which takes place in October of 2004 AD.

Additionally, there is an epilogue that seems to take place days to months after the conclusion of the main action but is otherwise unplaceable

It is a chronologically midway film in the Alien vs. Predator timeline (the chronological fifth film to feature a Yautja predator and the chronological second film to feature a Xenomorph alien) and can be watched either at its timeline point or as an extended flashback [along with "Alien vs. Predator" (2004)] between "Alien 3" (1992) and "Alien: Resurrection" (1997).

It was adapted as a video game in late 2007.

There is also an extended "Extreme Unrated Edition" cut of the film released April 15th, 2008.

Many small changes are made and the opening scene matches the end of the previous film, "Alien vs. Predator" (2004) even more closely. So the movie's time setting is unchanged.
