When Does "TED 2023" (2012) Take Place?

"TED 2023" (later released as "The Peter Weyland Files: TED Conference, 2023") is a science fiction short film written by Ridley Scott with Damon Lindelof and released February 28th, 2012.

It takes place on the fictional Alien vs. Predator timeline in the year:

2023 AD

We know this because, well... it's pretty clear from the title. There's also a time and place setting title card at the beginning telling us it's "Long Beach, California. 2023".

In his speech, Peter Weyland says, "We are now 3 months into the year of our Lord, 2023." meaning it is around March of 2023 AD.

[A now defunct marketing website for "Prometheus" (2012) placed this day as "FEBRUARY 28, 2023" AD.]

HOWEVER, the real-world main Technology, Entertainment, Design (TED) conference of 2023 was held from April 17th, 2023 AD to April 24th, 2023 AD so it is most likely April of 2023 AD.

It is the first chronological short film in the Alien vs. Predator timeline. It can be watched at its timeline point. [Expanded elements enrich the experience: it can be watched before "Happy Birthday, David" (2012) and after the film "Predators" (2010).]

There are three cuts of the film. The original short 3-minute version was revealed to have a 3-minute prologue (titled "Thus Spoke Zarathustra") June 11th, 2012 and a final complete cut was released with the home video edition of "Prometheus" (2012) October 9th, 2012.

The timeframe of the story is not changed in these versions.
