When Does "Quiet Eye" (2012) Take Place?

"Quiet Eye" (later released as "Quiet Eye: Elizabeth Shaw") is a science fiction short film written by Damon Lindelof that released May 16th, 2012. So when is "Quiet Eye" set?

It takes place on the fictional Alien vs. Predator timeline in the year:

2079 AD

We know this because a timestamp counter in the center and near the top of the screen is running seconds and minutes but the day, month, year, and hour portion remains unchanging at: "04:08:2079 21" for 9 PM on April 8th, 2079 AD.

Many "Alien" fans insist the context of Elizabeth Shaw's statement "I believe there is a place where every one of those questions can be answered. I believe I know where that place is." in the short means it must take place sometime after the prologue in "Prometheus" (2012), which takes place in 2089 AD. Though it is more than possible the theory Shaw speaks of was fully formed but lacking proof before 2089 AD. One could also question why Shaw does not appear a decade younger but other characters within this universe have been shown to age slowly due to advanced technology.

It is the third chronological short film in the Alien vs. Predator timeline. It can be watched at its timeline point. [Expanded elements enrich the experience: it can be watched after the short film “Happy Birthday, David” (2012) and before the feature film "Prometheus" (2012).]
