When Does "The Lioness" (2022) Take Place?

"The Lioness" is a historical fiction novel written by Chris Bohjalian that released May 10th, 2022. So when is "The Lioness" set?

It takes place in the year:

1964 AD

We know this because Kate "Katie" Barstow narrates to us that "her own father had died last year within days of Jack Kennedy, though in far less dramatic circumstances." and United States of American President John F. Kennedy died on November 22nd, 1963 AD in the real world.

11.1963+ 1 = 11.1964.

Additionally, the story opens with a narrator speaking from an unspecified future point but it ends with an excerpt from a "The Los Angeles Times" interview with Carmen Tedesco that includes a clear date: "TRANSCRIPT OF THE LAST RECORDED INTERVIEW. (THE FULL STORY RAN IN THE Los Angeles Times, JUNE 21, 2022.)" so we can guess that the prologue and the "Epilogue" both take place in June of 2022 AD
