When Does "Ghosts" Season Two (2020) Take Place?
"Ghosts" season two is a fantasy comedy television series showran by Mathew Baynton with Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard, and Ben Willbond that premiered September 21st, 2020. So when is "Ghosts" season 2 set?
It takes place in the year:
We know this because in season three episode five "Something to Share?" (2021) Julian says, "My name is Julian Fawcett and I've been sober now for 27 years, 3 months, and 11 days." to which Alison Cooper replies, "Uhh no, that's not what we-- Hold on. Isn't that just how long you've been dead?" Julian is vague but admits, "Nahh, it's a technicality." Thanks to the on-screen Google search results in season one episode two "Gorilla War" (2019), we know Julian "Died: 18th March 1993". So it must be June of 2020 AD at that point and there is just one Christmas (season two episode seven "The Ghost of Christmas") celebrated in December of 2019 AD between the beginning of the season and that season three episode, making it just one year earlier than season three episode five.

3.1,993 + 3.27 = 6.2,020
and
2,020 - 1 = 2,019.
Later, season two episode seven "The Ghost of Christmas" depicts Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so it is December 24th, 2019 AD and then December 25th, 2019 AD at the end of the season.
Additionally, season two episode two "About Last Night" begins with a quick prologue starring the basement plague victims during their lifespan. So it is unplaceable other than occurring some time during the Middle Ages.
Then, season two episode three "Redding Weddy" has many flashbacks to The Captain's life but other than taking place after the end of World War II on May 8th, 1945 AD, the day known as V-E Day, they are unplaceable.
Season two episode four "The Thomas Thorne Affair" is taken up by many flashbacks to Thomas Thorne's death day which he explicitly tells Allison Cooper is "October 10th, 1824. A crisp autumnal afternoon." So, as long as his memory holds true, these scenes are all in October of 1824 AD.
Later, season two episode six "Perfect Day" includes a very quick flashback to the death of Patrick 'Pat’ Butcher as shown in season one episode three "Happy Death Day". That episode had a time-setting title card reading: "1984". So it is almost certainly also 1984 AD.
Finally, season two episode seven "The Ghost of Christmas" opens with a flashback to Julian Fawcett's lifespan and follows that up with a few more. Those on-screen Google search results in season one episode two "Gorilla War", told us that Julian "Died: 18th March 1993". So these must be during or before March of 1993 AD. They are otherwise unplaceable.
It was remade in 2021, in 2025, and again in 2025.
