When Does "The Investiture of the Gods" (1567) Take Place?

"Fēngshén Yǎnyì" (released to English-speaking audiences as "The Investiture of the Gods" and "The Canonisation of the Gods" and "Creation of the Gods" and Dutch-speaking audiences as "Feng Shen: De Verheffing tot Goden") is a fantasy historical fiction novel written by Xu Zhonglin with Lu Xixing that released 1567. So when is "The Investiture of the Gods" set?
