When Does the Fourth Comic-Book "The Time Machine" (1990) Take Place?
"The Time Machine" #1 "Across the Fourth Dimension" to "The Time Machine" #3 "How Brief the Dream" is a science fiction comic-book written by Bill Spangler [adapting "The Time Machine" (1895) by H.G. Wells] that premiered March 1990. So when is "The Time Machine" set?
It takes place in the year:
We know this because after the Time Traveler finishes his huge trip into the future, his famous time machine's dials read "802701".

802701 AD
We know this because after the Time Traveler finishes his huge trip into the future, his famous time machine's dials read "802701".
Additionally, H.G. Wells appears as a narrator and tells us in a textbox, "And so it was that I returned to the Time Traveler's home in Richmond, on a chill winter's day in 1895." during the prologue that must therefore take place in winter (October, November, or December NOT January or February) of 1895 AD.
Also, during this prologue, the Time Traveler starts describing his journey which begins as an extended flashback after he says, ..."until six months ago, you were right." Presumably, this puts us some time in April, May, or June of 1895 AD (it cannot be autumn of 1894 AD because later, during the 1940 AD portion, the Time Traveler says, "The logical course would have been to return to 1895." not to 1894 AD) as he first starts his time traveling adventure.
10.1895 - 6 months = 4.1895
to
12.1895 - 6 months = 6.1895.
Then, in this next scene and the machine's readout says "001940". He discovers a world at war. Though he doesn't stick around very long, the real-world global conflict World War II was ongoing in Europe at the time. So it is 1940 AD at this point.
Next, the character jumps forward in time to escape World War II and the reader can clearly read the dials on the time machine saying: "033240". So it is now almost certainly 33240 AD.
