When Does the Film "The Limehouse Golem" (2017) Take Place?

"The Limehouse Golem" is a historical fiction crime film written by Jane Goldman [adapting "Dan Leno and the Limehouse Golem" (1994) by Peter Ackroyd] that released August 31st, 2017. So when is "The Limehouse Golem" set?

It takes place in the year:

1880 AD

We know this because the real-world German economist Karl Marx appears as a character and he was born on May 5th, 1818 AD and passed on March 14th, 1883 AD so it must be after May of 1818 AD and during or before March of 1883 AD.

Also, the real-world British comedic actor George Wild Galvin a.k.a. Dan Leno (1860-1904) appears as an adult character and he was born on December 20th, 1860 AD. So it must be around or after 1880 AD.

1,860 + 20 = 1,880.

More specifically, the manager of the British Museum Reading Room says, ..."it's quoted in an old piece by the essayist Thomas De Quincey." and Constable George Flood asks "Shall we talk with this De Quincy?", to which Inspector John Kildare responds, "He has been dead for 20 years Flood, so it might be a bit..." The real-world British essayist Thomas De Quincey (1785-1859) passed on December 8th, 1859 AD. So it must be around December of 1879 AD though, based on the above information, it must be close to 1879 AD but between 1880 AD and 1883 AD.

12.1,859 + 20 = 12.1,879.

Furthermore, the movie opens with a time and place setting title card reading "London, 1880".

Specifically, when Inspector Kildare and Constable Flood ask to see the logbook of the Reading Room the audience can clearly see a handwritten "24th" and a handwritten "September" next to a pre-printed "1880". So it's either late September or early October of 1880 AD at the start.
