When Does "OPERATION MINCEMEAT" (2019) Take Place?

"OPERATION MINCEMEAT" is a comedy historical fiction stage-musical written by David Cumming with Felix Hagan, Natasha Hodgson, and ZoĆ« Roberts that released May 14th, 2019. So when is "OPERATION MINCEMEAT" set?

It takes place in the years:

1942 AD - 1943 AD

We know this because the real-world British military intelligence officer Lieutenant Commander (and later spy novelist) Ian Fleming (1908-1964) appears (though he is not directly involved in the real-world events depicted, he is within the fictional world [diegesis] of this musical) and he passed on August 12th, 1964 AD. So it has to be before or during August of 1964 AD.

More specifically, the real-world British military intelligence officer Lieutenant Charles Cholmondeley (1917-1982) also appears as an adult character and he was born on January 27th, 1917 AD. So it must be around or after 1937 AD.

1,917 + 20 = 1,937.

Specifically, the sixth song "The Pitch" depicts Cholmondeley first suggesting the real-world British misinformation operation code-named Operation Mincemeat to superiors. This happened in the real world in October of 1942 AD.

Later, titled "Sail On, Boys", the eleventh song, shows the military's execution of the plan (part of the real-world global conflict World War II), which occurred in April and May of 1943 AD.

Near the end, the penultimate song "Did We Do It?" includes the characters getting word that a joint force of British and American soldiers invaded Sicily, Italy and this happened in the real world on July 9th, 1943 AD. So we end in July of 1943 AD.
