When Does "Hot Fuzz" (2007) Take Place?

"Hot Fuzz" is a crime comedy film written by Edgar Wright with Simon Pegg that released February 16th, 2007. So when is "Hot Fuzz" set?

It takes place in the year:

2007 AD

We know this because when Police Sergeant Nicholas Angel points at a young man in a bar and asks, "Hey! When's your birthday?" and he answers, "Uh... 8th of May... 1969...", Angel incredulously responds, "You're 37?" Since it is late April at this time and the character is claiming he was born in May of 1969 AD, he would be one full year older the next month in May. With these assumptions, the character would turn 37-years-old on May 8th, 2006 AD and then would still be 37 the next April in 2007 AD. Sergeant Angel is a stickler for details and incredibly quick-minded so it is unlikely he has made a mistake or is rounding up.

5.1,969 + 37 = 5.2,006
and
5.2,006 + 11 months = 4.2,007.

More specifically, when Sergeant Angel confronts Simon Skinner later, he specifically says, ..."on May the 1st" and ..."on April the 29th" and ..."on April the 28th" when referring to the recent murders the audience has seen over the first half of the movie of three distinct characters. So it is late April of 2007 AD at the start and early May of 2007 AD at the end of the story.
