When Does the Film "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" (2026) Take Place?

"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" is a superhero film written by Chris McKenna with Erik Sommers, Tom Holland, Justin Kuritzkes, and Destin Daniel Cretton [adapting "" #? (?) by ?, "The Amazing Spider-Man" #527 (2005) and "The Amazing Spider-Man" #528 (2006), both by J. Michael Straczynski, as well as "Ultimate Spider-Man" #156 (2011) by Brian Michael Bendis] that released July 29th, 2026. So when is "Brand New Day" set?

It takes place on the fictional Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline in the year:

2028 AD

We know this because Peter Parker visits the grave of a character who died in the previous story, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" (2021), whose tombstone reads "1964 - 2024" and there's a multi-part prologue which covers 4 years of time from the conclusion of the previous movie to the start of the main action.

Additionally, there are three? short prologues at the beginning of the movie:

-The first prologue features Peter watching a video on a social media platform made by his friend Ned Leeds. Presumably, Ned posted this video soon after recording it and Peter is watching it soon after it was posted or it is streaming live and either way it is early September of 2024 AD at this moment.

-The second prologue .

It is a chronologically late film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
