When Does "This Time Next Year" (2020) Take Place?
"This Time Next Year" is a romance novel written by Sophie Cousens that released December 1st, 2020. So when is "This Time Next Year" set?

We know this because the end of chapter six reads, "Minnie" and then, "It was only eleven A.M., but if there was ever a day she wanted to sleep through, it was her thirtieth birthday." and previous chapters (see below) establish that Minnie Cooper was born on January 1st, 1990 AD. So it's currently early January of 2020 AD.

After the crowd counts down "Four, three, two, one, HAPPY NEW YEAR! An explosion of fireworks erupted in the sky"... it must now be early January of 2020 AD.
Furthermore, the prologue in the first chapter begins with a time setting subheading reading "New Year's Eve 2019" and the next chapter starts with a "New Year's Day 2020" subheading.
Soon, during the chapter one prologue there is a quick flashback to Minnie Cooper and Greg ?'s first meeting, that opens with "Minnie and Greg had been dating for five months." So this quick scene is probably July of 2019 AD.

Also, the narrative includes numerous, numerous flashbacks:
-The first takes up chapter three and depicts the birth of Minnie and Quinn Hamilton. During, the previous chapter Minnie directly says, "Quinn Hamilton, born at Hampstead Hospital in 1990?" and there's lots of discussion about the time like Bill Cooper saying, ..."love, it's only two minutes to go till midnight." So it's late December of 1989 AD and then early January of 1990 AD.
Furthermore, this section begins with another subheading that reads: "New Year's Eve 1989" and then "New Year's Day 1990" for chapter four.
-Then, during chapter five there's a tiny flashback that begins with "On her seventh birthday Minnie"... so it's January of 1997 AD.
1.1,990 + 7 = 1.1,997.
-Next, "The night before her thirteenth birthday, Minnie"... and we've established that her birthday is January 1st, 1990 AD so this must be late December of 2002 AD.
