When Does the Film "Deadpool & Wolverine" (2024) Take Place?
"Deadpool & Wolverine" is a comedy superhero science fiction film written by Rhett Reese with Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, Ryan Reynolds, and Shawn Levy [adapting "Deadpool vs. Old Man Logan" #1-#2 (2017) by Declan Shalvey] and released July 24th, 2024.
We know this because the movie's main action occurs in a realm called "The Void" (introduced in "Loki" season 1) that is analogous to other fictional portrayals of The End of Time.
It takes place on an alternate timeline of the fictional Marvel Cinematic Universe at:
The End of Time
We know this because the movie's main action occurs in a realm called "The Void" (introduced in "Loki" season 1) that is analogous to other fictional portrayals of The End of Time.
Additionally, the prologue is interrupted by a flashback that includes a close-up of a 3-dimensional block desk calendar displaying "MAR", "1", "4", and "2018", so we know this scene depicts March of 2018 AD.
At the end of the 2018 AD flashback within the prologue, a time setting title card appears that reads, “SIX YEARS LATER” over the footage. This should indicate that the early and late segments of the story (before and after the acts at The End of Time) take place in 2024 AD.
2018 + 6 = 2024.
HOWEVER, the entire narrative is precipitated by the events at the end of a previous film, "Logan" (2017), which takes place entirely in 2029 AD. As the scene in which the desk calendar displays "2018" and the scenes labeled "SIX YEARS LATER" are set in two different universes, it is entirely possible that their years do not match up linearly. Different universes can have entirely different calendars or simply have started the Gregorian calendar at a different time. 6 years after 2018 AD in the main filmic Marvel universe can be after 2029 AD in the X-Men films universe. Presumably, therefore (other than the 2018 AD scene in the MCU), the early and late parts of the narrative are unplaceable other than taking place sometime after the "Logan" (2017) scenes in 2029 AD.

It is a chronologically late film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline and can be watched either at its timeline point or after all the others.
