When Does the Remake, "Godzilla vs. Kong" (2021), Take Place?

"Godzilla vs. Kong" is an adventure horror (kaiju) film written by Terry Rossio with J. D. Payne, Patrick McKay, Lindsey Beer, Cat Vasko, T.S. Nowlin, Jack Paglen, J. Michael Straczynski, Michael Dougherty, Eric Pearson, and Max Borenstein [remaking "King Kong vs. Godzilla" (1962) by Shinichi Sekizawa with George Worthing Yates] that released March 24th, 2021. So when is "Godzilla vs. Kong" set?

It takes place on the fictional MonsterVerse Universe timeline in the year:

2024 AD

We know this because about one/sixth through the movie we see a "SCIENTIFIC FUTURE" magazine cover dated for "AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2020". We're clearly also before the events of the next film, "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" (2024), which take place in 2027 AD. So it must be between 2020 AD and 2027 AD.

Furthermore, very early in the story, a TV news report specifies that a new Godzilla attack in this film is “the first substantiated Titan sighting in over 3 years”, SEEMINGLY referencing the events of the previous film, "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" (2019), which takes place in 2019 AD.

2019 + 3 = 2021.

HOWEVER, about one/fifth through the narrative, Walter Simmons says, "You see, 10 years ago, when Gojira was first revealed to the world"... clearly referring to G-Day, which occurred during the main action of the first canonical MonsterVerse film, "Godzilla", (2014), which takes place definitely in 2014 AD. This means the events of this film certainly happen in 2024 AD.

2014 + 10 = 2024.

It is a chronologically late film in the MonsterVerse Universe (a fourth chronological film to feature Godzilla and a second to feature King Kong) and can be watched at its timeline point.
