When Does "For All Mankind" Season Two (2021) Take Place?

"For All Mankind" season two is a science fiction television series showrun by Ronald D. Moore with Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi that released February 19th, 2021. So when is "For All Mankind" season 2 set?

It takes place in the year:

1983 AD

We know this because in season 2 episode 2 "The Bleeding Edge" Danielle ‘Dani’ Poole says, "It has been 9 years since I’ve… since any of us have been up there", referring to the United States of America's base on the Earth's moon: Jamestown. Dani and the two characters she is talking to, Edward ‘Ed’ Baldwin and Gordon ‘Gordo’ Stevens. All three characters were seen on the Earth’s moon together in season 1 episode 7 "Hi Bob" (2019), which takes place in late 1974 AD. So it’s currently 1983 AD, at least.

1974 + 9 = 1983.

More specifically, in season 2 episode 2 "Every Little Thing" after a prologue of TV news broadcast clips and newspaper front pages, the first shot of the season concludes with a title card over the computer-generated-imagery footage that reads "JAMESTOWN COLONY 21 May 1983". So presumably its May of 1983 AD at this point though it doesn't seem to be confirmable by context.

In season 3 episode 3 "All In" (2022), a plaque can be seen that proudly reads "SEPTEMBER 19, 1983" commemorating an occurrence in season 2 episode 10 "The Grey". So it's September of 1983 AD at the end of the season.

Additionally, there is a very short epilogue at the end of the season finale, season 2 episode 10 "The Grey", with a title card reading "1995" and teasing the next season.
