When Does the TV Show "Legends of Tomorrow" Season One 2nd Part (2016) Take Place?

"Legends of Tomorrow" season one episodes eleven to sixteen is a comedy science fiction television series showran by Phil Klemmer with Chris Fedak [adapting "Showcase" #20 (1959) by Dave Wood as well as "Time Masters" #1-#8 (1989-1990) by Bob Wayne with Lewis Shiner] that premiered April 14th, 2016. So when is "Legends of Tomorrow" season 1 episodes 11 to 16 set?

It takes place on an alternate timeline of the fictional DC Films Universe in the year:

The End of Time/2016 AD

We know this because the Time Masters Council is located in "The Vanishing Point". Season 1 episode 12 "Last Refuge" begins in this setting for a first of two prologues. The Vanishing Point is clearly analogous to other fictional portrayals of The End of Time. The last half of the season's longest stretch in one setting over any series of episodes (season 1 episode 14 "River of Time" and season 1 episode 15 "Destiny") takes place in this setting.

Additionally, season 1 episode 11 "The Magnificent Eight", features yet another "time-jump" that is immediately labeled by a superimposed time and place setting title card that says, "SALVATION  1871" and then specified by Rip to be: "The town of Salvation, the Dakota Territory, 1871." The Dakota Territory is a governmental distinction that only existed from March 2nd, 1861 AD to November 2nd, 1889 AD in the real world. It is therefore 1871 AD

The same episode also includes another very quick, aforementioned, flashback to 1700 BC (or 1834 BC). Vandal Savage roughly confirms this in season 1 episode 16 "Legendary" when he says, ..."erase time itself and travel us back to 1700 BC."

And, then, a final moment in 1990 AD labeled "CENTRAL CITY  1990" with another time and place setting title card before the episode ends. There's a secondary prologue for season 1 episode 12 "Last Refuge" in this setting accompanied by an identical 1990 AD title card. This date cannot be confirmed via in-universe context. Episode 12 then continues on to a staggering number of dates.

Episode number 12 "Last Refuge" also moves on with a segment of time-travel to 2007 AD. The helpful A.I. Gideon clearly, says, ..."I calculate a ninety-six percent likelihood that she is headed to Starling City, circa 2007.", referring to an opponent the heroes need to stop. The very next shot has a "STARLING CITY  2007" title card to back this up.

Before this episode ends, we are also taken to December of 2014 AD. Gideon declares there's "a temporal anomaly on December 19th, 2014" just before the short time-travel fight scene. Plus, there's a title card that says: "STAR CITY  2014" right at its start.

Episode number 12 "Last Refuge" continues with a short visit to June of 1972 ADMarch of 1950 AD, and, finally, September of 1993 AD. As Rip says, "Gideon, prepare for multiple time-jumps.", three dates pop up on a table-top screen: "WAYPOINT  1972  06.02", "WAYPOINT  1950  03.16", and "WAYPOINT  1993  09.12". There's also a "CENTRAL CITY  1972" title card in the quick scene in question. Then, "IVY TOWN  1950" at the relevant time. Lastly, "CENTRAL CITY  1993" too.

Season 1 episode 13 "Leviathan" flashes back to 1941 AD during a scene including a superimposed title card that displays "IOWA CITY  1941" though this year is not confirmable in any way.

Finally, season 1 episode 16 "Legendary", the season finale, brings the characters back almost to where they started in 2016 AD. Specifically, May of 2016 AD. Rip specifically confirms this when he says, "I had to bring you back to May 2016 not January 2016." and when a character who died between the characters leaving at the start of the season and returning at the end shows "1985 - 2016". Furthermore, there was immediately a title card reading: "STAR CITY  2016" that's joined later in the episode with one that says, "CENTRAL CITY  2016". Another two "STAR CITY  2016" title cards label the final scenes of the season.

The same episode includes 1944 AD scenes that are pinned down by Rip Hunter when he receives a message and asks Gideon to "Plot a course for Saint-Lô, France, 1944." The scenes in question also all begin with a title card telling us it's "SAINT-LÔ, FRANCE  1944".

For the big climax, the Legends must save the day over three distinct time periods simultaneously. Professor Martin Stein pins them down thus: ..."we can split into teams of two. One in 1958, one in 1975, and one in 2021." The very next shot backs him up by including a title card that reads: "ST. ROCH  2021". This is quickly followed by a return to March of 1958 AD and October of 1975 AD. (Both are settings from the first half of the season.) "HARMONY FALLS  1958" and "NORWAY  1975" title card accompany these scenes.

One of the final scenes of the episode, and the entire season, sees the Mick Rory take a time-travel detour. It begins with a "CENTRAL CITY  2013" title card though there is no way to confirm this date with context.

It is a TV series in the DC Films multiverse timeline but takes place outside of time or all along the timeline and, therefore, can be watched any time after "The Flash" season two (2015) and "Arrow" season four (2015).
